After studying Fine Art at London’s prestigious Central Saint Martins, Meena found her way into the world of post-production before discovering her true calling behind the camera: filmmaking. Over the past decade, she has directed across short film, commercials, branded content, social, TVC and documentary, bringing a strong visual sensibility and a sharp eye for human detail to every project.
Her latest short film, 'The Call', reflects her instinct for balancing heartfelt storytelling with humour and understated comedy. As a director, Meena is drawn to stories that feel honest, intimate and character-led, with a particular love for dialogue-driven narratives, subtle performances and those small, heartwarming moments that stay with you.
About the Director
Meena Ayittey is an award winning London based film director with a love of emotional storytelling as well as tongue in cheek comedic performance, as seen in her latest spot for Bumble. After studying Fine Art at Central Saint Martins, Meena delved into the word of post production which led her to her true calling: film making. After over a decade working in post production as a VFX artist and motion designer, Meena has a detailed knowledge of editing and post production techniques and is an expert when it come to VFX composition and motion graphic elements as well as shooting on green screen and combining live action with VFX. As a storyteller, Meena is particularly interested in hard hitting subject matters and projects that call for action for historically disadvantaged groups. Female focused brands are a particular soft spot. She has a love of comedy and subtle and heartwarming stories which are driven by dialogue and realistic performance and works across social, TVC and documentary.
